Computational Linguistics and Albanian Language

Understanding the roots of the Albanian Language is the main goal of the group. This is an international cooperation among researchers from many different countries.

Albanian language is one of the oldest languages of the Indo-European languages and very interesting from the scholastic viewpoint because it provides connections and bridges between Indo-European languages and Ancient Sanskrit.   There has been a lot of activity and claims connecting versions of Albanian (Gegnishtja) to Old Greek or Sanskrit.  We aim to investigate such claims from the computational linguistics point of view.
